West Des Moines, Iowa – The Iowa Health Care Association (IHCA) is proud to announce that Brianne Fister has been selected by the American Health Care Association/National Center for Assisted Living (AHCA/NCAL) as a future leader in long-term and post-acute care. Fister will participate in AHCA/NCAL’s Future Leaders program, which provides year-long training and mentorship for professionals in long-term and post-acute care.

“I am honored to be selected for AHCA/NCAL’s Future Leaders program,” said Fister. “This opportunity will allow me to enhance my knowledge and leadership skills to help promote the profession’s mission of providing the highest quality, resident-centered care.”

Fister serves as the administrator of Exira Care Center and has worked in long-term care for 10 years, overseeing facilities that offer skilled care, long-term care, assisted living, dementia care and residential care / home- and community-based services. She currently serves on the Iowa Center for Assisted Living Board of Directors and as co-chair for IHCA’s Education and Competency Advisory Council.

“We are delighted that Brianne has been selected to join this prestigious national leadership program,” said Brent Willett, IHCA president and CEO. “We deeply appreciate her long-standing leadership in IHCA and her commitment to advocating for the interests of long-term care providers both at the state and national levels.”

AHCA/NCAL developed the Future Leaders program in 2004. Selected participants demonstrate both leadership potential and represent the interests of state and national long-term care providers. The program covers the latest theories and practical applications in quality management, customer satisfaction and leadership. The year-long program kicks off with the “Future Leaders of Long-Term Care in America” Symposium held each year in Washington, D.C.
