Merfeld nominated for Saint Mary’s 2023 Outstanding Senior
WINONA, Minn. (March 27, 2023) – Brandon Merfeld, son of John and Heather Merfeld of La Crosse, Wis., was nominated for Saint Mary’s University’s 2023 Outstanding Senior award.
Outstanding Seniors have demonstrated the ideals of scholarship, character, leadership, service to colleagues and the university community, as well as genuine concern for the needs of others.
Merfeld is a Biology major at Saint Mary’s. He has participated in Delta Epsilon Sigma (national honor society) and Tri-Beta (national honor society for biology). He also has played on the baseball team, worked as a tutor, served as Student-Athlete Advisory Committee president, and participated in various clubs. After graduation, he plans to attend medical school and become a physician.
Catherine Pierpont and William Sepsis were the two students recognized as the 2023 Outstanding Seniors at the university’s Founders’ Day celebration.
The other students nominated for Outstanding Senior included Grace Howard, Christa Ingabire, Mackenzie Kelly, Sophia O’Neil, Guy Cardinal, Brady Lindauer, Brandon Merfeld, and Joseph Schauf.
