Keep Iowa Beautiful Announces New Associate Director
Keep Iowa Beautiful is thrilled to announce the hiring of longtime Hometown Pride coach Lorin Ditzler as its new Associate Director.
(June 21, 2023) – With her extensive experience in community planning and development, coupled with her notable contributions as a community coach in Keep Iowa Beautiful’s Hometown Pride program, Ditzler is poised to play a vital role in the organization’s mission to sustain vibrant communities throughout the state.
“Lorin has been an outstanding community coach, and we are thrilled to have her take on this key role as Associate Director,” said Andy Frantz, Executive Director of Keep Iowa Beautiful. “Her expertise in community planning and her strong commitment to the Hometown Pride program make her the perfect choice to lead our efforts in maintaining strong and beautiful communities across Iowa.”
For the past five years, Ditzler has demonstrated an unwavering dedication to the Hometown Pride program as a community coach, serving Warren County with remarkable passion and enthusiasm. During her tenure, she led a group of volunteers to raise more than half a million dollars and complete over 100 betterment projects across the county, including public art projects, community festivals, park amenities and other revitalization efforts.
With a keen understanding of the unique challenges and opportunities faced by Iowa communities, Ditzler will lead the charge in expanding the reach and impact of the Hometown Pride program, empowering communities to create long-lasting positive change.
In her new capacity, Ditzler will work closely with the Keep Iowa Beautiful team, community coaches, volunteers and partner agencies to coordinate programming and further develop the Hometown Pride program’s strategies and initiatives. She will help integrate the Hometown Pride program with other Keep Iowa Beautiful programs and initiatives, such as Pick-Up Iowa, Paint Iowa Beautiful, the No-Litter Hotline and Keep Iowa Beautiful scholarships. Her passion for community development and her ability to foster collaboration will undoubtedly propel the program to new heights, benefiting communities throughout the state.

Ditzler’s appointment as Associate Director of Keep Iowa Beautiful is effective immediately. Keep Iowa Beautiful looks forward to the new ideas and fresh perspectives she will bring to the table, as they continue their mission of making Iowa a better place to live, work and visit.
